Subject: | Providing a Waiver of Department of Labor & Industry Fees for School Districts |
I will soon re-introduce reintroduce HB 2831 (Hahn) from the prior session to provide a waiver of fees charged by the Department of Labor & Industry for school districts. This proposed waiver would apply for the fees charged by the department under the Administrative Code of 1929, beginning with the current fiscal year. For example, this would include elevator inspection fees, boiler inspection fees, and fees for Uniform Commercial Code activities performed by the department. At a time when our school districts are encountering financial difficulty, extending this waiver to school districts will relieve pressure on school districts’ taxpayers. I hope you will join me as a cosponsor, and I look forward to working with you on this important legislation. |
