MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 26, 2021 02:01 PM
From: Representative Jeffrey P. Pyle
To: All House members
Subject: Increase Restaurant Licensee Discount

Recently, I have been receiving feedback from the greater restaurant community advocating for an increase of the licensee discount, contained in the Liquor Code. By way of background, under the Liquor Code, a licensee receives a ten percent discount when purchasing liquor from a State Store. My legislation seeks to increase the discount from ten percent, to fifteen percent.

As we all know, these are trying times for our local bars and restaurants. The historic challenges provided by COVID-19 have wrecked devastation on these entities, and it is my belief that this change to the Liquor Code will provide the restaurant community with a needed economic lifeline.

Thank you in advance for consideration of my legislation.

Introduced as HB427
