MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 26, 2021 11:05 AM
From: Representative Anthony M. DeLuca
To: All House members
Subject: Mileage Reimbursement

In these trying times, when so many are out of work and on the brink of financial devastation, it is important that we, as legislators, protect taxpayer dollars to avoid adversely harming vulnerable Pennsylvanians. For some legislators, collecting mileage reimbursement has become a way of increasing pay. This practice, in some instances, is more expensive than leasing a state vehicle.

Given the current revenue situation that we are facing, we must do all that we can to promote economy in government. Therefore, I am introducing legislation that will lower all mileage reimbursement rates to the constitutional reimbursement rate of .38 per mile. This is the right thing to do and will help protect taxpayer dollars.

I hope you will support this common-sense legislation and sign on as a co-sponsor.
