MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 11, 2021 04:27 PM
From: Representative Robert E. Merski
To: All House members
Subject: National Human Trafficking Resource Center Hotline Signage Requirements

To human trafficking victims, seconds count. Timing can mark the difference between life and death when access to a life-saving hotline number may provide the opportunity a victim needs to break free from their captor. Ensuring this information is available where and when it is needed most is fundamental.

My legislation will provide increased access to National Human Trafficking Hotline information. Posting signage in all restroom stalls, on all mirrors, and by all hand driers and paper towels dispensers will help get life-saving contact numbers into the hands that need them.

Visibility is essential when providing vital hotline information. Placing signage in as many prime areas as possible increases the chance to save lives.

Protecting the citizens of Pennsylvania is our duty. Ensuring easy access to human trafficking hotline information is one step in aiding victims in the Commonwealth. Please join me in providing this crucial information.
