House of Representatives
Session of 2021 - 2022 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 5, 2021 11:06 AM
From: Representative Ryan E. Mackenzie
To: All House members
Subject: Department of Banking and Securities Update

In the near future I will be re-introducing HB 2206 to update the Administrative Code of 1929 relating to the Department of Banking and Securities. This legislation unanimously passed the House last session.

My legislation will update the Administrative Code to reflect the Department’s change in name and structure due to Act 86 of 2012. Act 86 transferred the duties of the Pennsylvania Securities Commission to the Department of Banking in addition to the renaming.

In addition, my legislation will repeal the Board to License Private Bankers provision because there are no longer private bankers to license. And finally, the mortgage licensing fees and money transmitters fees would be repealed from the Administrative Code because those fees are contained in other acts.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation to update the Administrative Code to reflect the enactment of other pieces of legislation.
