MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 16, 2020 08:52 AM
From: Representative Austin A. Davis
To: All House members
Subject: Reduced Fee for Identification Cards

Identification (ID) cards are an absolute necessity in today’s world. Without one, you cannot enroll in college, get a job, or apply for assistance. The high cost of ID cards, however, prevents some of our most vulnerable citizens from getting what they need to be successful in life.

To make this must-have item a bit more affordable for senior citizens, as well as low-income, homeless, and disabled individuals, I am introducing legislation that would reduce ID card fees for these individuals. Also, as a small token of our appreciation for their service, this discount will be extended to our veterans.

This proposal is just one small way in which we can provide a helping hand to our veterans and citizens in most need as they seek to gain greater independence. Please join me in co-sponsoring this important legislation. Thank you for your consideration.
