Subject: | Co-Sponsorship: Requiring Meal Breaks for Pennsylvania Workers |
All workers deserve a break. Whether it is for lunch or just to eat a snack and drink some water, we need to make sure workers have that right. Currently, our law only requires mandated employee meal breaks for workers under the age of 18. In order for our workforce to be working at their best and safest, a meal break midway through their shift is absolutely necessary. For this reason, I plan on introducing a bill that would require employers to provide at least 30 minutes of rest after 5 hours of continuous work. Additionally, workers will have the freedom to leave their workplace for their meal breaks. A refreshed and fed worker is a safe and productive worker. Maintaining a happy and healthy workforce is one of my priorities. Please join me in co-sponsoring this important legislation that supports Pennsylvania workers and provides a simple and fair break during the work day.
