MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 8, 2020 09:21 AM
From: Representative Perry S. Warren
To: All House members
Subject: Safe Storage of Firearms

In the summer of 2017, Cosmo DiNardo brutally murdered four young men in Pennsylvania using a family member’s gun. DiNardo was not allowed to have a firearm due to his severe mental illness, but because Pennsylvania does not require firearms to be safely stored, four innocent people lost their lives.

My common-sense legislation would simply require firearm owners to safely store all of their firearms when residing with a person who cannot legally possess a firearm. I ask that you join me in protecting all Pennsylvanians by requiring firearm owners to be responsible in ensuring that their guns do not fall into the wrong hands.

Introduced as HB237
