Subject: State Routes as Scenic Byways former HB 1978
 
In the near future, I plan on re-introducing former HB 1978, this legislation amends the designation of State Route 40 in Southwestern Pennsylvania as a scenic road. This designation amends section 8301 of Title 74, (Transportation) of the PA Consolidated Statutes.

It is the intent of this legislation to designate the original National Road and not any rerouted portion of U.S. Route 40. PennDOT supports this legislation.
