Subject: Resolution – Live Performance and Art Related Nonprofit Organizations

While it remains imperative to socially distance to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, live performance venues and art-related nonprofits are extraordinarily impacted; especially small, independently owned sites. They are doing their part to combat this virus, and we need to support them to ensure that they are there when we can once again join together for a concert, a play, or an art installation.

With this in mind, I will be introducing a resolution urging the U.S. Congress to provide funding and support for the Commonwealth’s live performance venues and art-related nonprofit organizations currently shuttered. This is in response to the current COVID-19 pandemic and its effect on these entities and their surrounding communities.

Bolstering crucial performing arts and related nonprofits during these extraordinary times of uncertainly is vital. When we can safely gather once again, live entertainment venues and art-related nonprofits will provide much-needed respite. I hope that you will join me in support of these institutions committed to performance and the arts in service of all Pennsylvanians.
