Subject: Ensuring Essential Freedoms for HOA Members
 
In the near future I plan to introduce a bill that will prohibit common interest owned communities, under Title 68, from creating bylaws or regulations regarding political signs and sheds moving forward.
 
The bill will provide that unit owners be permitted to display political signs within the boundaries of their unit for the two weeks prior to an election.
 
The bill will also allow for unit owners to construct sheds within the boundaries of their units. CIOC boards will be unable to limit the size of the shed, but can put some limitations on the color and placement of the shed. A unit owner seeking to construct a shed within their unit will have to obtain all necessary municipal permits to do so.
