Subject: | Respite Care for Care Receivers |
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that provides up to three hours of respite care services for care receivers. There is a significant need for services to assist families and caregivers providing at home care to functionally dependent older adults. This legislation will allow caregivers to take their loved one to an adult day center for up to three hours a week. This care and service will benefit not only our care receivers, but offer also their caregivers. With one of the oldest populations in the country, it is imperative that we review our current laws and modernize the way we care for one of our most cherished populations. I welcome you in joining as a cosponsor of this important legislation. |
