Subject: | Time Stamping of Provisional Ballots |
In the near future, I plan to introduce a bill that requires County Boards of Elections to have polling place personnel date and time stamp provisional ballots that are cast by voters. As many of us have heard from our constituents and local election officials after the most recent primary election, there remains room for improvement in how we manage our election system. To that end, I am introducing a bill that strengthens the tracking of provisional ballots. My bill would require the provisional ballot, secrecy envelope, as well as the provisional ballot envelope to be dated and time stamped by poll workers. Taking this step would help provide an additional level of tracking of these materials. Please join me in co-sponsoring this important legislation. |
