You cannot raise a family on $7.25 per hour. Even single people cannot feed themselves, pay rent, pay utilities, and save for the future on $7.25 per hour. As we recover from COVID-19, we need to ensure that workers are getting a fair wage and have the ability to prepare for disasters like the pandemic. Workers cannot prepare on $7.25 per hour. In the near future, I will be introducing a bill that would provide the following increases to the minimum wage:
Concurrently, the tipped wage would be increased on the following schedule:
We need to ensure that workers are getting paid what they are worth. Without a fair wage, we will never be able to ensure an equal and just society. $7.25 per hour is not equal, it is not right, and it is not fair. Please join with me as we bring fair wages to Pennsylvania workers. |
