Subject: | Offering Congratulations to Class of 2020 High School Graduates |
To help address the spread of COVID-19 during this global pandemic, we have had to make some collective sacrifices for the health and safety of our communities. As part of mitigation efforts, schools had to make the tough call to move to online classes and cancel commencement ceremonies for our graduating high school students. Though it may not be the graduation day these students imagined, our high school graduates deserve to be recognized and honored for their achievements. For this reason, I am introducing a resolution to offer the Class of 2020 our congratulations as the House of Representatives of this Commonwealth. These students represent our future, and we should stand with them as they reach this important milestone. In times of hardship, it is important that we pause for a moment and remember that there is always something we can celebrate together. As Co-Chairs of the Literacy Caucus, please join us in offering young people across Pennsylvania our sincere congratulations by co-sponsoring this resolution. |
