Subject: | COVID 19 Relief on Safekeeping Fees |
In the near future I plan to introduce legislation to allow licenses that are in safekeeping relief from paying the license renewal or validation fee for a period of one year during the COVID 19 health crisis. The Coronavirus has dramatically impacted the future of our restaurants, bars and clubs. Just a few months ago many of these businesses were in the midst of renovations and improvements that would have put them in a position to remove their license from safekeeping and start operating. Other licensees were in the process of transferring their license to a new owner. Delays and financial instability because of the pandemic has changed the situation and many are no longer able to remove their license from safekeeping, Allowing our liquor license holders a reprieve of one year on the renewal/validation fee will simply allow them to regroup during these uncertain times. Please consider co-sponsoring this legislation and join me in supporting our neighborhood bars and restaurants. |
