Session of 2019 - 2020 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: May 12, 2020 04:19 PM
From: Representative Bob Brooks
To: All House members
Subject: Cleaning polling sites

In the near future, I plan to introduce a bill that requires the County Board of Elections to have polling site areas cleaned before the polls open and again within 10 hours after a polling site closes for the elections taking place on June 2, 2020 and November 3, 2020.

The COVID-19 virus crisis has caused a multitude of issues for the residents of Pennsylvania and concern for one’s health when trying to carry out their civic duty of voting should not be one of them. The voters of this Commonwealth who desire to personally go to their polling site to cast their vote should feel confident that their health will not be compromised in doing so. This bill puts the responsibility of making sure that polling site areas are cleaned on the County Board of Elections.
