Subject: Resolution recognizing September 2020 as Financial Planning Month

I will soon introduce a resolution designating September 2020 as “Financial Planning Month” in Pennsylvania. Financial planning provides an individual with the ability to identify and prioritize their life goals based on their current monetary situation. By recognizing what a person intends to do in the short and long term is helpful to determine how save and invest in order to achieve these goals. Similar to unknown life changes, financial plans are adaptable to best suit the wants and needs of the person.

Instead of worrying about money and planning for the future, Pennsylvanians can choose to build a financial plan now and make responsible decisions for them and their families. It may be helpful to seek the expertise of a financial advisor. Financial advisors are trained professionals that specialize in financial planning. Many people utilize financial advisors for their management skills and advice when creating a financial plan.

This resolution will highlight the importance of establishing a financial plan and fundamental financial planning practices. Please join me in recognizing September 2020 as “Financial Planning Month” in the Commonwealth.
