Subject: Emergency Medical Services Week
 
I will be introducing a resolution which designates May 17 through May 23, 2020 as Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This year's EMS Week theme is "Ready Today. Preparing For Tomorrow”.
EMS Week brings together our state’s medical personnel to honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of medicine's "front line." Pennsylvania’s more than 40,000 certified EMS providers work for nearly 1,300 licensed ground and air EMS agencies to provide services to respond to more than one million requests for service each year.
Please join me in cosponsoring this very worthwhile resolution to ensure that the important contributions of EMS practitioners in safeguarding the health, safety, and wellbeing of their communities are fully celebrated and recognized.
