| In the future, I will be introducing a resolution to recognize the week of September 7 through 11,2020, as "National Payroll Week" in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The American Payroll Association, and its over 20,000 members, will be launching their annual public awareness campaign to pay tribute to the nearly 150 million people who work in the United States and the payroll professionals who support the system by paying wages, reporting worker earnings and withholding Federal employment taxes. Pennsylvanian payroll professionals especially play an integral role in maintaining economic wellbeing by carrying out diverse tasks, some of which include paying unemployment insurance systems, providing information for child support enforcement, and carrying out tax withholdings. The designation of the week of September 7 will coincide with the American Payroll Association national recognition of "National Payroll Week." I respectfully ask for your consideration to join me in co-sponsoring this resolution to assist in raising awareness about the important roles our payroll professionals play on a daily basis. |
