Subject: | Co-Sponsorship of Legislation – Sergeant Stephen M. Minick Memorial Bridge |
In the near future, I plan on introducing legislation designating a bridge to honor Sergeant Stephen M. Minick. The bill will designate the bridge on a portion of State Route 669 that crosses the Casselman River in Somerset County as the Sergeant Stephen M. Minick Memorial Bridge. A native of Salisbury, Sergeant Minick gave his life in service to his country during the Vietnam War. Sergeant Minick was a Light Weapons Infantryman and served with A Company, 4ht Battalion, 503rd Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade. Sergeant Minick was killed in action on March 26, 1967. He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman Bridge, the Parachutist Badge, the National Defense Service Medal, the Distinguished Unit Citation, the Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation and the Good Conduct Medal. Please join me in sponsoring this important piece of legislation. Thank you for your consideration. |
