Subject: | Designating November 2019 as “Complex Regional Pain Syndrome Awareness Month” |
Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) is a rare, chronic pain condition that usually affects a single limb for a long period of time. CRPS can happen to anyone at any age and can be triggered by simple injuries such as bone fractures, cuts, surgery, or from having the limb immobilized in a cast. Those who suffer from this condition experience significant pain which gets worse over time and can spread throughout the entire affected area. There is no single cure for CRPS. Patients may have to partake in a multitude of treatments to live with their condition including medication, physical and occupational therapy, and behavioral management. Some patients may never recover from CRPS. More research is needed on this rare condition, so please join me in spreading awareness by recognizing November 2019 as “Complex Regional Pain Syndrome Awareness Month” in Pennsylvania. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Jessica Luce in my Harrisburg office at (717) 783-5043 or via email at jluce@pahouse.net. |
