Subject: Resolution Designating the Month of November 2019 as "COPD Awareness Month" in Pennsylvania
 
I will be introducing a resolution in the near future designating the month of November 2019 as "COPD Awareness Month" in Pennsylvania.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) affects millions of individuals in the United States. It affects an estimated 714,000 Pennsylvania residents and is the fourth leading cause of death in this Commonwealth.

Please consider joining me in this resolution to promote greater public awareness, enhance education, erase the stigma and increase early diagnosis of this disease in order to save lives and reduce health costs in this Commonwealth.
