Subject: Italian-American Heritage Month - October 2019
 
In the near future I plan on introducing a resolution recognizing October, 2019, as “Italian-American Heritage Month” in the Commonwealth.

Many individuals of Italian heritage headed to Pennsylvania looking for jobs from 1890 to 1960. The Italian immigration population to Pennsylvania ranked second in the country (behind only New York).

Today, there are more than 17 million Americans of Italian heritage in the United States, and over 1.4 million Americans of Italian heritage residing in the Commonwealth. These Italian-Americans have contributed greatly to Pennsylvania with deep roots in religion, politics, the arts, science, law and economic and social institutions.

Please join me in sponsoring this resolution to designate Italian-American Heritage Month.
