Subject: | Co-sponsor Memo - "Long Term Care Awareness Month" November 2019 |
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution recognizing the month of November as “Long Term Care Awareness Month” in Pennsylvania. Long Term Care Awareness Month is aimed at educating consumers about the importance of long-term care insurance as 70% of men and women over the age of 65 will need long-term care services. The American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance established Long Term Care Awareness Month in 2001, Congress and several states have recognized it, and consumers have been planning for their financial futures ever since then. The month of November is the beginning of the holiday season, where families will be gathering and discussing plans for the future. While not everyone will need long-term care insurance, everyone should have a long-term care plan for the future. I hope you will join me in cosponsoring this resolution. |
