| MEMORANDUM DATE: As we continue our efforts to purge defunct laws from our books, I am preparing to introduce legislation to repeal the Milrite Act. The Milrite Act, which created the Milrite Council (an economic development council composed of representatives of business and labor), provided for the expiration of the council in 1994. In other words, this act has not been relevant for 25 years. The Department of Labor and Industry has indicated that they have no objections to the repeal of this defunct statute. Please join me by cosponsoring this legislation. |
