Subject: Simplifying School Safety Grants
 
I intend to introduce legislation to simplify school safety funding.

Specifically, my bill will amend the Public School Code to require the PA Department of Education (PDE) to disburse the School Safety and Security funds, through a simply funding formula, to our bricks and mortar public schools; eliminating the burdensome grant process for our schools. The community violence prevent grants will remain in place. PDE instead of the School Safety and Security Committee will approve, disburse, and administers these grants.
