Subject:	Recognizing “Men’s Health Week”

In the United States, women continue to outlive men by an average of five years. Sadly, many of the leading causes of death for men, such as heart disease, are preventable or treatable if detected early. To promote awareness of preventative health measures and to improve the health of men in this Commonwealth, I will be introducing a resolution designating the week of June 10 through 16, 2019, as “Men’s Health Week” in Pennsylvania. As you know, June 16, 2019, is Father’s Day. Let us work together to improve the health of the men in our lives, and to close the health disparities between men and women. Please join me in supporting our fathers, husbands and sons in achieving better health by celebrating “Men’s Health Week.” Thank you for your consideration.
