Subject: | Resolution Honoring the 150th Anniversary of North Wales Borough |
North Wales Borough, located in Montgomery County, celebrates its 150th anniversary this year on August 20, 2019. North Wales Borough has a rich and vibrant history, as it is the oldest borough in the North Penn Valley, and was part of the original 1702 William Penn land grant. Originally named “Gwynedd” to honor the homeland of its first settlers from northwestern Wales, North Wales Borough was incorporated on August 20, 1869. In an effort to celebrate the history, community, and vibrant culture of North Wales, residents of the Borough will come together on August 20, 2019 to commemorate the 150th anniversary through a community celebration, which will include food, music, a vintage steam locomotive train ride, an evening fireworks display, and fun events for local families. Please join me in supporting this resolution that honors the 150th anniversary of the North Wales Borough of Montgomery County and mark an important occasion for 3,250 residents of the North Wales community. |
