MEMORANDUM

Posted: May 8, 2019 12:33 PM
From: Representative Keith J. Greiner
To: All House members
Subject: Optional Abolishment of the Office of Elected Auditor in Second Class Townships

In the near future, I will be introducing legislation that allows for the optional abolishment of the office of elected auditor in Second Class Townships. First Class Townships and Boroughs already have this option.

Currently, the vast majority of Second Class Townships contract with a certified public accountant to perform their annual audit, and the elected auditors are not involved in performing the audit. My legislation will also establish a procedure for the board of supervisors to set salaries of roadmasters and other positions that may be held by a supervisor for six years to avoid a supervisor setting their own salaries.

If you have any questions, please contact Tierna at 717-783-6422 or ttuckey@pahousegop.com.

I hope you will cosponsor this legislation with me.
