Subject:	10th Anniversary of the Pennsylvania Innocence Project

In 2018, a Philadelphia native was released after spending 11 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. He was one of many clients that the Pennsylvania Innocence Project has helped exonerate and is currently fighting to free. The Pennsylvania Innocence Project, which has been in operation since 2009, has so far returned 14 individuals to their lives and society. In addition to restoring justice to those who face one of the gravest injustices imaginable, the Project provides clinical training to tomorrow’s law, journalism, criminal justice, and forensic science professionals while collaborating with law enforcement agencies and the courts to address systemic factors of wrongful convictions. The Project also continues to advocate for criminal justice reform through the update of post-conviction laws and the introduction of new laws that encourage the execution of best practices in the system. Please join me in celebrating the tenth anniversary of an organization that refuses to forget the forgotten and continues to fight against the injustices faced by the convicted innocent.
