MEMORANDUM

Posted: April 2, 2019 03:40 PM
From: Representative Keith Gillespie
To: All House members
Subject: Repealing Act 577 of 1951

Please join me as a co-sponsor of legislation that will repeal Act 577 of 1951, which is a part of a package of bills that PennDOT has reviewed and considers to be outdated and obsolete. Act 577 of 1951, known as “An act authorizing the Department of Highways to erect and maintain toll bridges over the certain points, Susquehanna River at and to provide the necessary approaches and connections with State highways; empowering counties to pay certain damages; providing for the collection of tolls; and making an appropriation.” does not serve a legitimate purpose in the Commonwealth’s laws since it has been superseded by newer acts.

Introduced as HB1092
