Subject:	Mileage Reimbursement

In the budget atmosphere we find ourselves in today, it is important that we, as legislators, practice what we preach. For many members, collecting mileage reimbursement has become a way of spiking pay, averting resources from the Commonwealth’s structural budget deficit. This practice, in some instances, is more expensive than leasing a state vehicle. For the above reasons, I am introducing legislation that will lower all mileage reimbursement rates to the constitutional reimbursement rate of .38 per mile. This is the right thing to do and will help resolve the current budget scenario. I hope you will support this common sense legislation and sign on as a co-sponsor.
