MEMORANDUM

Posted: February 21, 2019 11:03 AM
From: Representative Danilo Burgos
To: All House members
Subject: Dominican Republic Independence Day

In the United States, the Dominican people are the fifth-largest population of Hispanic origin. The Dominican American community has made large contributions to the economic vitality and culture of the United States, and have accomplished large feats in many industries.
With these individuals in mind, it is imperative that we take the time to recognize the contributions and rich history of the Dominican Republic on the day of its independence. Therefore, I plan to introduce a resolution recognizing February 27, 2019, as “Dominican Republic Independence Day,” in Pennsylvania.
As stewards of diversity and inclusion, it is my hope that you will join me in this collective effort to celebrate the Dominican American community in Pennsylvania. Your consideration is greatly appreciated.
