MEMORANDUM

Posted: February 4, 2019 10:04 AM
From: Representative Tim Briggs
To: All House members
Subject: Recognizing March 2019 as “National Athletic Training Month” in Pennsylvania

I plan on introducing a resolution designating March 2019 as "National Athletic Training Month" in Pennsylvania to spread awareness about all that athletic trainers do.

Licensed Athletic Trainers are highly trained and educated, treating a wide range of patients including professional, college, secondary school and youth athletes, dancers, musicians and military personnel. Furthermore, their expertise includes providing preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions.

Accordingly, leading organizations have joined together to raise public awareness of athletic training, and to emphasize the importance of quality health care for athletes and persons engaged in physical activity.

I hope you will join me in recognizing these important healthcare professionals.

Co-Sponsors from 2018 Resolution: READSHAW, DEAN, YOUNGBLOOD, TOOHIL, BURNS, LONEGIETTI, NEILSON, KINSEY, DiGIROLAMO, BIZZARRO, DUSH, SONNEY, DRISCOLL, PASHINSKI, HENNESSEY, WARD, R. BROWN, BARRAR, B. O’NEILL, WATSON, MILLARD, MURT, MARSICO, SCHWEYER, D. COSTA, DEASY, BRADFORD, GILLEN, and ROZZI
