Subject: Recognizing February 2019 as Esports Month in Pennsylvania
 
Video games are no longer just a hobby for children and teenagers. In the past 20 years, competitive video gaming or Esports has become a global juggernaut with projected global revenues of $1.6 billion by the end of 2021. This growing spectator sport will have a global audience of 600 million people by the end of 2020.

This is why I am calling on my colleagues to join me in recognizing February 2019 as Esports Month in Pennsylvania. By nurturing and encouraging this industry, we are providing more scholarship opportunities for Pennsylvania students. As more colleges develop Esports teams, more students are going to be provided once-in-a-lifetime opportunities and obtain an education, while competing in a sport they love.

Please join me as we say GAME ON and recognize February 2019 as Esports Month in Pennsylvania.
