Subject:	Merging the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee with the Joint State Government Commission

In the near future, I will introduce legislation that will merge the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee with the Joint State Government Commission. The new name of the merged entity will be the Joint State Government Legislative Budget and Finance Committee. The existing 12 legislator LBFC and 16 legislator JSGC boards will be replaced by one board for the new organization with 16 legislators as board members appointed the same way as the current Joint State Government Commission members are appointed. The new board will be required to eliminate duplicative positions such as only having one executive director rather than the current two executive directors. The new board will also be required to reduce the new organization to a staff size that is no more than 75% of the combined prior two organizations.
