Subject:	Co-Sponsorship: Resolution designating the month of January 2019 as “School Director Recognition Month” in Pennsylvania

School directors play an invaluable role in serving the needs of students in our school districts across this Commonwealth. Their leadership, vision, advocacy, decision making, and effective problem solving are essential to achieving the overall mission of helping prepare children and youth to lead productive lives as contributing members of society. As such, as State public officials and fellow Pennsylvanians, we owe a great debt of gratitude to these dedicated, selfless individuals who volunteer countless hours of their time and talents for the benefit and success of these young students. Our children are our future, and the vital role that this Commonwealth’s school directors play in serving their needs cannot be overestimated. With this in mind, I will be introducing a resolution designating the month of January 2019 as “School Director Recognition Month” in Pennsylvania in honor of this Commonwealth’s school board members and to recognize their numerous contributions. Please join me in recognizing this Commonwealth’s school directors by co-sponsoring this resolution.
