Subject:	Temporary Employees Right to Know

As you know, Pennsylvania workers have a proud history of hard work for fair wages, a safe workplace, and the dignity of a job well done. Sadly, one class of hard working Pennsylvanians, temporary workers, often are confronted with roadblocks. Frequently employment agencies fail to provide temporary workers with the necessary, fundamental and basic information the worker needs to understand and carry out their duties. Many times employment agencies charge these job seekers inflated fees associated with obtaining the position. These workers are vital our economy’s growth and strength. We must ensure our temporary workers are afforded the ability to succeed. My legislation will ensure that temporary workers in the Commonwealth are supplied with the basic information they need to carry out their work in a safe and prepared manner. Fees will be limited and strict guidelines established regarding the advertising of temporary positions by employment agencies. I ask for your support and to join me in co-sponsoring this legislation so we can help provide our temporary employees a chance at fair treatment and the ability to succeed.
