MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 12, 2018 03:29 PM
From: Representative Ed Neilson
To: All House members
Subject: Requiring Legislative Approval for Toll Road Conversion

As state legislators, one of the greatest challenges we face is how to best fund an aging transportation infrastructure. In the quest to find a reasonable solution, the concept of tolling Pennsylvania roadways often comes up.

While requiring tolls on frequently traveled roads may seem like an easy solution, oftentimes these proposals lack the support of our constituents. In an effort to better protect their interests and ensure that their input is taken into consideration, I am introducing legislation that would require the General Assembly’s approval before any existing and free roadway can be converted into a toll road.

Taking a more active role in the conversations surrounding the transportation issues that affect the day-to-day lives of our constituents is crucial to building a stronger Pennsylvania. Please join me in co-sponsoring this important piece of legislation.

Please join me in helping to improve our laws in Pennsylvania by co-sponsoring this legislation.
