Subject: | REAP Tax Credit |
The Resource Enhancement and Protection Program (REAP) provides tax credits to farmers who implement best management practices for conservation. The program is administered by the State Conservation Commission and the tax credits are awarded by the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue. Eligible applicants can receive between 25% and 75% of project costs in the form of State tax credits for up to $150,000 per eligible applicant. I intend to introduce legislation that will provide for the tax credit to be applied to a spouse when a joint income tax return is filed. Currently Eligible Applicants is defined only as “a business firm or an individual.” My legislation will add “individuals filing jointly” to that list. Please join me in co-sponsoring this important piece of legislation. |
