Subject: | Resolution declaring July 2018 as "Lake Appreciation Month" in Pennsylvania |
In the near future, I will introduce a resolution declaring July 2018 as Lake Appreciation Month in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania's landscape is home to more than 1,500 lakes, ponds and reservoirs. These lakes and ponds are critical resources to Pennsylvania's environment and quality of life, providing sources of recreation, scenic beauty and habitat for wildlife. Lakes are valuable economic resources for Pennsylvania businesses, tourism and municipal governments, with uses ranging from flood control and other agricultural purposes to water supply. Maintaining the health of our lakes is the responsibility of every citizen. Pennsylvania recognizes the need to protect these lakes and ponds for future generations. If you have a lake or pond in your district that you wish to be recognized during my comments at the time of introducing this resolution, please e-mail the name of the lake or pond to my legislative secretary, Heather Rodgers, at hrodgers@pahousegop.com. I would greatly appreciate your support of this resolution. Thank you for your consideration. |
