Subject:	Designating the Week of April 16-20, 2018, as “Week of the Young Child”

In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution recognizing the week of April 16-20, 2018, as “Week of the Young Child” in Pennsylvania. Since 1971, local organizations throughout the Commonwealth and the country, in conjunction with the National Association for the Education of Young Children, have been celebrating the “Week of the Young Child.” This week is a time to bring attention to the needs of young children and their families and recognize early childhood programs and services that meet those needs. All young children and their families deserve access to high-quality early education and care. These organizations are working to improve early learning opportunities, which are crucial to the growth and development of young children and a path to building better futures for everyone. Please join me in celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers and families by co-sponsoring this important resolution.
