Subject:	Resolution designating November 2017 as Commonwealth Hunters Recognition Month

I plan to introduce a resolution designating November 2017 as “Commonwealth Hunters Recognition Month” in Pennsylvania. The purpose of this resolution is to recognize the nearly one million deer hunters in Pennsylvania and bring awareness to the importance of hunting safety. The whitetail deer is the official state animal, and PA has the most registered deer hunters in this country. Hunting-related activities in PA account for $1 billion in retail sales, with over $600 million of that being from deer hunting alone. Please join me in cosponsoring this resolution.
