Subject: | Pvt. Charles W. "Bill" Roher Memorial Bridge |
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation that will designate a bridge on a portion of State Route 1004 over the Conococheague Creek, Green Township, Franklin County, as the Private Charles W. "Bill" Roher Memorial Bridge. Private Roher was a native of Chambersburg and served in the United States Army from April 1943 to March of 1945. He loved fishing and relaxing by the creek. Private Charles W. "Bill" Roher honorably served his country with the 17th Airborne Division, Company C, 194th Glider Infantry. He was a highly decorated veteran of World War II, having earned the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge, World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, European Theater of War Ribbon with one star, Good Conduct Medal, Marksman Badge with rifle bar and Glider Badge. I ask for your support and invite you to join me in co-sponsoring this legislation honoring an outstanding individual who honorably defended our Commonwealth and nation by designating a bridge over the Conococheague Creek in his name. |
