Subject: Auditors Hourly Wage Compensation Increase
 
In the near future I plan on introducing legislation amending the Second Class Township Code to update the compensation for auditors, which hasn’t increased since 1999.

Currently, auditors receive $10 dollars an hour and cannot receive more than two thousand dollars per year. This amount is not sufficient to pay for all the time that our elected and appointed auditors work in order to complete the annual audits they are required to submit.

My legislation will increase the amount that an auditor is paid to $15 dollars an hour and increase the cap to three thousand dollars per year as well as require the supervisors to adjust the amount every year if there is an increase in the cost of living index. By using the inflation calculator they should be receiving $14.58.
