Subject: | Corporal Robert J. Sherwood Memorial Bridge |
In the very near future, I will be introducing legislation to rename a bridge in my legislative district to the Corporal Robert J. Sherwood Memorial Bridge. Specifically, the bridge is located on the portion of Route 53 that crosses over Route 22 in Cresson Township, Cambria County. Corporal Robert J. Sherwood served in the United States Marine Corp and lost his life on April 3, 1967 during the Vietnam War while on patrol. His unit came under fire and Robert was mortally injured helping to load injured Marines into a medical helicopter. Corporal Sherwood received various medals and ribbons including the Purple Heart, Paratrooper Wings, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Sharpshooter. Please join me in honoring Corporal Robert J. Sherwood. Thank you. |
