MEMORANDUM

Posted: February 3, 2017 01:53 PM
From: Representative Craig T. Staats
To: All House members
Subject: Legislation Amending the Liquor Code

In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation amending the Liquor Code.

Contained in the Liquor Code is a cumbersome provision that prohibits a constituent from buying more than 192 fluid (two six packs) ounces of malt or brewed beverages, per transaction, at restaurant and eating place licensee holders.

My legislation would remove this provision and allow persons to purchase as many six packs per transaction as they desire. Furthermore, this change will not force constituents to walk out of the establishment and come back to buy more six packs or require constituents to stand at the register and perform multiple transactions.

It is my belief that this legislation will provide greater convenience for our constituents in purchasing malt and brewed beverages.

Thank you in advance for consideration of my legislation.

Introduced as HB1897
