Subject: Resolution to Evaluate Replacement/Modernization of the House Floor Voting System
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce a resolution requesting the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to implement a study regarding replacement of the voting system for use on the House Floor.

The current system is very old, requires significant maintenance and is prone to malfunction. Because the timely, dependable and accurate recording of votes on the House Floor is critical for proper records as well as to maintain the public's confidence, we need to look into replacing the current system with a more modern and dependable system.
