MEMORANDUM

Posted: June 7, 2016 11:18 AM
From: Representative Ted Harhai
To: All House members
Subject: Coal Miners & Unemployment Compensation

In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation to increase unemployment compensation an additional 26 weeks to equal a year for coal miners.

Coal mining is a proud tradition in Pennsylvania. Each and every day, I am fighting for Pennsylvania’s hardworking coal miners and their families. Tragically, however, the war on coal has put thousands of our coal miners out of work. I extend my deepest sympathies to our hardworking coal miners and their families, who, for no fault of their own, have been laid off or terminated. Losing one’s job and not knowing what steps to take next can be traumatic.

Please join me in standing up for Pennsylvania’s coal miners by cosponsoring this important piece of legislation.
